At Granada FC we are committed to reducing our carbon footprint in whatever way we can, from our recycling bins at the clubhouse to sharing lifts to training and matches, we are trying to be part of the solution and create a better future for the next generations.
Our club jerseys are made in Europe from 100% recycled plastic - Did you know that only 9% of all plastic produced has been recycled? (UN data). Globally more than 1 million plastic bottles are sold every minute and with approximately 8 million tonnes of plastic ending up in our oceans every year, this equals the amount of trash a fully loaded truck would dump into the ocean every minute for a whole year! If this trend keeps up, experts predict that by 2050, there will be more plastic than fish swimming around in our seven seas. Granada FC are leading the way in Ireland with our shirts, beanie hats, training tops and zip tops ALL being made from recycled plastic, by our inspirational (and Irish owned) manufacturer Wolfhound + Elk. On average each jersey is made of 6 recycled plastic bottles and nothing else.
At Granada FC, we are looking to improve the lives of our members both on and off the playing field and now not only are they getting healthy in our new shirts, the shirt itself is improving our planet's health too!!
